The tourism industry is littered with examples of destinations not living up to their marketing. Well this October St Helena Tourism, has launched a campaign to clean up the island and so ensure that when the first visitors arrive there by air in early 2016, they fly into a truly ‘unspoilt’ island. The campaign is a great example of a small community collaborating on a big project. For two hours every other Friday, for the next twelve months, the entire island’s population will be encouraged to join in picking up litter and cleaning the island.
As an added incentive, every local person participating will be entered into a draw to win an all expenses paid trip to Cape Town for two on board the RMS St Helena.
Keen(e) to Clean is supported by Keene Communications in partnership with St Helena Tourism.
